Starfish

Starfish is a totally deaf girl of 8 years whose owner was extremely poorly when she grew a huge mass on her left hip. Unable to cope, they took her in for put to sleep

The vets tried to give her a chance and in desperation, contacted us…. might be common knowledge that some of us have a certain issue with collecting monochromatic dogs and so we were worn down and she came to us.

Starfish has a huge angry, very infected, nasty open, purulent wound which looks a lot like a mast cell tumour. We are currently waiting her results from today which has included imaging, specialist soft tissue and oncology opinions and her biopsies are sent off for a clear diagnosis. Starfish is back home, oblivious of the carnage she has caused around her and the potentially huge pending bills to try and save her life and give her a good chance at having quality time. We are realistic and we will only operate, which will be extensive, if she has a good prognosis of a full recovery. Today’s bill will come in at over £2k…..

We try not to ask for too much help, but we need it for her. We take these animals on the understanding that we will do what is right by them, always with welfare at the height or our concern.
